Facette denervation

Facette denervation means the atrophy of nerves at the joints of the spine (facettes). The surgery is executed under local anaesthetics. The disease (cervical facet joint dysfunction) is caused mainly by degenerative changes, e.g. when there is long-term wear of the joints. This causes pain, which radiates into the arms or legs depending on the level involved, e.g. neck or lower back. Sometimes we diagnose numbness.
