Lumbago
A lumbago is an acute syndrome that causes a rather strong sudden back pain. A “false movement” is often the reason for the pain, e.g. when lifting something or bending down. When lumbago happens, the nerve roots that leave the spinal cord are not involved. The pain is usually caused by the facet joints. By the way: a pain in the back like lumbago is quite often a signal of the body, showing that there is not the wished for balance between tension and relaxation.
